When these clients came to us, they were seeking to maintain the traditional style of the home, but add some modern finishes to their kitchen renovation. To modernize the space and add a bit of contrast we installed black quartz countertops, new light-colored hardwood oak flooring, a stainless steel brick style backsplash, painted the walls white and the ceiling a sky blue. +
This combination of colors offers a lovely mix of dark and light contrasts creating a fresh look while the backsplash is used sparingly not to overwhelm the cleanliness of the white walls. To keep this space looking clean and elegant, we decided to make the appliances “hidden” by placing the refrigerator in the newly opened pantry and disguising the dishwasher with cabinet door fronts. The base cabinets, that surround the kitchen, further add to the clean and modern look, giving each accessory and tool a place for it to be tidied away. Other additions include a lazy susan within the corner cabinet, a pull out space rack, hidden LED under cabinet lighting, a fitted cutting board and a pull out two can garbage drawer.
