Our first challenge with this project was coming up with a design to complement the homeowners eclectic style; the first thing they asked for was the opposite of the basic kitchen they had. +
A major concern was with the lack of space in the original design, so we took out a wall between the existing kitchen and adjacent bedroom creating a larger, more open space that now catches lots of light during the day. Their brand new, red island gives them plenty of counter space with a pop of color. Outfitting drawers and a countertop in the mudroom to match the kitchen preserved the seamless design into the next room. The blue bookshelf was turned into a great storage space for decoration. The homeowners unique style helped create a fun and colorful space.
